Basic Basket Techniques: Twining on a Bottle
Basic Basket Techniques: Twining on a Bottle
Class Description: This is a technique class; we will not finish the project but directions will be provided on the ending. We will be doing a covered bottle.
We will start with absolute basic twining, studying the technique and structure. There will be practice at this level. A base will be started for the project practicing basic twining. We will attach the base to the bottle, learn three-strand twining for the upturn, and establish the basket on the bottle. Then we will explore adding weavers and different patterns that can be achieved without venturing into full turn twining. A break between noon and 2 pm will allow for rest, lunch, and practice on your own. At 2 pm we will check in, answer questions, problem solve, and prepare to complete the project. Shaping to the bottle will be discussed.
Registration deadline for this class is January 10. This will give us time to mail your class materials to you.
