Cost: $10
Tools needed: Sharp knife, something to pry the bark off (pry bar, large screwdriver, etc.) Bring WATER (for drinking).
Description: Cedar bark (Thuja plicata) gathering is scheduled for Friday, May 17, 2024, 9:30am. This gathering is at Kalama Forest Products in Kalama, Washington. These are cut trees.
Our partners in Kalama have shown remarkable support. Ken, who has allowed this gathering since 2017, will be retiring this year. Please show your appreciation and bring a small gift (a small basket is suggested). Thank you for any donation in advance.
You can get as much cedar as you can process that day. “Processing” means stripping sections from logs and then removing the outer bark. The weather should be nice.
