Explore single weaver forms in hex. You will make an iPad stand and a hanging flower basket or a more original shape of your own design in dyed cane. Enjoy seeing how others have used this technique. Get familiar with basic hex plaiting and its sculptural possibilities. The tubular form can be manipulated into many shapes from boats to human figures and can be over-woven in materials of your choice to create stunning sculptures. This class is a good introduction to hex weave by working sculpturally or creating useful items. Projects are (#1) 10"w x 1.5"h x 1.5"d and (#2) 8"w x 3"h x 3"d
Tools needed: Spray bottle, bucket for soaking before and as you work; WeaveRite, awl or flat screwdriver; towel to work on; measuring tape; clippers or scissors for cane; spoke weight or other weight.
*We strongly encourage you to have a second camera over your workspace for demonstration, questions, and problem solving. You can use the DIY camera stand, link here.*
