Sculpting Techniques 2-day Workshop: Willow Canadian Goose/Cackler (Registration closed)
Using CBBG willow grown at the Our Table plot you will learn sculpting basics while making either the standing or floating form of a Canadian Goose or Cackler. This project may not be completed in the allotted time but you will make a great start! The techniques learned can then be used another day to create willow sculptural shapes of your own choosing.

Student skill level: All levels, CBBG members only.
Time/Location: The class will be held at Our Table Cooperative Farm 13390 SW Morgan Rd Sherwood OR 97140 on both Saturday, August 13, from 9 am – 3 pm and Sunday, August 14, from 9 am – 5 pm.
Number of students: 12
What you will need: pencil and paper, sharp pruners (example: Okatsune 8.25” pruners), bodkin/large awl, wooden/other tool for pre-bending willow, needle-nose pliers, old/spent bike inner tube. (The instructor and Guild will have some tools to loan and others may be available for purchase.)
Cost: $60 class fee. $50 materials fee, check only payable to CBBG on the first day of class. Students who have earned WILLOW BUCKS volunteering at the Our Table farm willow plot will be credited for their time. (If you received willow during harvest time this work isn’t counted toward WILLOW BUCKS.)
The last day to register is July 29, 2022. Cancellations up to July 29 are refundable. No refunds after July 29.
COVID note: The Guild requires full COVID-19 vaccinations for class participation. This class will be held outdoors, so it is unlikely masks will be required. However, bring one with you in the event it is needed for lunch or other shopping inside the Our Table store or in the event State of Oregon and/or CDC guidance for minimizing the spread of COVID so recommends.
