Materials: STUDENTS WILL SUPPLY THEIR OWN MATERIALS:

Warp: One ball 20lb polished hemp, available in colors.
Choice of weft: Each “hill” will take 1-3 yards depending on its size. The base and outline will require about 20 yards. You can use 4-ply waxed linen, knitting worsted, or various other types of cordage. You will want one dark color or black for outlining and base. You can mix weft materials for texture changes but you should keep them roughly the same size.
Beads: with holes large enough to thread onto the warp material.
When you register for the class, start planning your color scheme. Multiple shades of the same color or multiple colors both look great. Even black and white works.
