Date and time: Saturday, August 3, and Sunday, August 4, 2024. 9:00am to 5:00pm each day. There will be a 30-minute lunch break both days.
Location: Willow Bee Farm (7893 Olney Street SE, Salem, OR). Note: Free Camping is available at Willow Bee Farm! Also, 2 bedrooms are available for $30 per night; email Carol Horvath at ColumbiaBasinBasketryGuild@gmail.com to reserve a room.

What you will need: Students are recommended to bring their own knives, hand pruners, and bodkins. Other basketry supplies can be useful but are not necessary for the class. Lunch and beverage, if desired.
Description: Over the course of two days, students will be guided through the construction of a round or oval-handled basket. Students will have the opportunity to learn to make an oval base and use several different weaves for the sides of the basket, including: wailing, slewing, and French randing. When the sides are completed, a rod border will tie it all together, and a willow handle and a foot can be added to make this the perfect basket!
