A study group of the Columbia Basin Basketry Guild
This class will teach you how to prepare a gourd from cleaning to finishing. The first half of this class will cover; cleaning the outside, cutting, gourd design, cleaning and sanding and finishing the inside of a gourd. We also will cover repairs of holes and cracks.
The second half of the class will cover gourd finishing, including a metallic marbling, alcohol ink, how to work with Interference and a sponge acrylic finish.
Room Rental: $5 (bring to meeting)
Gourd needed – A clean and uncleaned Oregon gourd will be provided at no cost. We ask you register for the class. Bring you own if you have one you want help with.
Tools Needed:
Any gourd cleaning, cutting, and finishing supplies you have. If you are new to gourding you can use some of the members tools and supplies
