In this class we will be using a 5 rod spiral twill to create a lovely basket. We will be using color to highlight the pattern and weaving the basket on a wooden base.

Cost: $29 for Guild Members, $59 for non-members (Guild fee- $6; material and shipping fee- $23) Materials include: wooden base, 24 spokes, 3 colors of dyed reed approximately 1.5oz each (We will ask for your top 2 color choices after you register for class. Color options are: dark teal, light teal & purple/ dark green, light green & harvest (orange)/ or black, natural & wine)
Supplies needed: soaking tub, scissors, needle nose pliers, awl, packing tool, towel or paper towels to wipe down dyed reed, glue (E6000 or Gorilla).
*We will use the DIY camera stand for demonstration, questions, and problem solving*
We ask participants to use their smartphone as a camera on their work, using a DIY camera stand. Full directions here.
For the camera stand you will need:
A smartphone
Two tall bottles full (wine, Martinelli bottles, 2 liter pop, etc.)
Yard stick or other similar flat piece
Tape to hold the yard stick on top of the bottles
Rubber bands to hold the phone
A work light helps to get light on your weaving while under the camera.
