Always wanted to learn how to weave a cane seat? Well, here’s your chance with this lovely little 8” square butternut wooden starter board that can be used as a trivet for plants, etc., or hung on the wall as an art piece!

Number of students: 12
Cost: $54 (Guild fee- $6; material and shipping fee- $48) Materials include: 8” predrilled unfinished plywood veneer starter board, strand cane, binder cane, 6 caning pegs, plus shipping & handling.
Supplies needed: small bucket, bowl or dishpan for soaking cane, scissors, icepick or awl, towel, and if possible, long, flat basketweaving tool or barbecue skewer.
Students will learn the basic hole-to-hole chair caning techniques, a no-knot method of tying off ends, how to “sew” on the final finishing binder cord, plus tons of tips and tricks of the trade.
*Students will have the opportunity to stain or varnish their starter board prior to class if they want but the board must be dry before class.

You may cancel your registration and be refunded by February 10th. Cancellations after February 10 are non-refundable.
