Basic Basketry Techniques: Small Market Basket (Registration closed)

This is a traditional market basket with “D” handle, suitable for a tool basket, small project basket or picking small vegetables.

Techniques and materials are plain weave with flat reed for spokes and weavers, flat oval reed for the border, oak handle, twining with round reed for the turn up, a bit of embellishment with dyed reed (not shown in picture). The finished basket measures 6" x 10".

Student skill level: Suitable for beginners; all levels welcome. CBBG members only.

Location: Multnomah Arts Center. Please note: The Guild requires full COVID-19 vaccinations and masks for all indoor classes.

Day and time: Saturday, July 16, 2022, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Pacific time.

Number of students: 12

What you will need: Tub or bucket for soaking, old towel, scissors or clippers, clothespins, spray bottle, tape measure, flat screwdriver or packing tool, small awl, pencil, spoke weight (or an ankle weight or brick in a plastic bag), pocket knife or X-acto knife

Cost: $12 class fee and materials fee of $25, for a total of $37.

The last day to register is Wednesday, July 1, 2022. If you need to cancel, please do so before July 1 to receive a complete refund.

NOTE: Masks are required for all indoor CBBG events.
