March Zoom-in – 9 Classes in 5 Days!

On Day 1, March 14, we will have 2 class offerings. Students will be able to create a Choctaw Pouch Necklace with Jennifer Wool or Floating Coils on a Gourd with Jane Wilson. Members only. NOTE: Select only 1 of these 2 classes. You cannot take both. See class listings below:

Choctaw Pouch Necklace with Jennifer Wool

Date & Time: Tuesday, March 14, 2023, 9am – 6pm PDT

About the Instructor

Students will learn how to weave cedar strips into a 3" h x 2" w x 1.25" d pointed-bottom Choctaw basket pouch, including twining, reverse twining with waxed linen, a flip and fold rim, and finished with a leather cord

Tools needed: Basketry shears, small packing tool, embroidery needle, several small clips, container for soaking.

Floating Coils on a Gourd with Jane Wilson

About the Instructor

Learn to open and close coil on a 5" x 5" x 5" gourd using hand-dyed Danish cord and waxed linen thread. Then you will learn to take the design one step further by floating coils outside of the gourd to create a new dimension to your design. You will be able to choose from several color combinations of painted gourd and hand-dyed cord.

Tools needed: Drill, awl, scissors, pencil, apron, small clamps
