Call for Artists - CBBG show at Lincoln City Cultural Center

  • Lincoln City Cultural Center 540 Northeast Highway 101 Lincoln City, OR, 97367 United States (map)

Basket made of recycled materials, created by Janet Ronacher.

CBBG will have a gallery show at the Lincoln City Cultural Center, Fiber Arts Gallery July 11, 2025- August 31, 2025. The title of our show is “Coming Around Again: Columbia Basin Basketry Guild Weaving with Recycled Materials.”

We need your weavings to make this show a success! If you have ever participated in a CBBG gallery show, you know that they are easy to participate in, exciting to be part of, and a great way to grow an audience for your work.

This show will be a little different from previous shows. Inspired by the work of founding member Janet Ronacher, and including work she donated to CBBG, this show will focus on recycled materials. While each piece does not need to include recycled materials exclusively, the spirit of the piece should be in keeping with the theme.

To participate you simply need to email Rose at ColumbiaBasinBasketryGuild@gmail.com and say: Yes, I would like to be part of the basketry guild gallery show at Lincoln City. Then look for follow-up emails with the information we will need for the show, deadlines, art drop off/pick up days & times, gallery information, and contracts.

Important Dates:

May 1, 2025: Email Rose Covert at ColumbiaBasinBasketryGuild@gmail.com by May 1 and confirm that you want to participate in the gallery show.

May 23, 2025: If you would like your work to be considered for promotional material, including print, website or press release, photos of work that will be included in the show must be emailed to Rose by May 23, 2025.

June 13, 2025: Gallery contracts signed, and returned. Photos and information for your pieces are due, including title, dimensions, materials and price. Lincoln City Cultural Center will keep a 35% commission on all sales, so factor that into your price.

We invite each artist to submit up to 4 pieces for the show. The work for this show will not be juried, meaning you get to choose which 1-4 pieces you wish to include in the show. We are looking for both wall hanging pieces and pedestal pieces, large and small pieces, traditional and nontraditional weaving, not more than 36” wide. Class baskets will be accepted (watch for information on a recycled material class happening in April).

More information will be emailed to participants and look for more information about show happenings as we get closer.

Thank you everyone, let’s make this show spectacular!

Warmly,

Your Guild’s Gallery Committee
