Willow Plot Maintenance and Bark Harvest

Date & time: Saturday, June 7, 2025. 9am - 12pm PT

Location: Our Table Cooperative Farm (13390 SW Morgan Road, Sherwood, OR). Directions to CBBG’s willow plot: enter the main driveway off Morgan Road, turn right where the road “Ts” at the store, go past a few hoop houses, compost pile, and blueberries all on your left, and turn into the small parking area by the fenced willow plot. 

Cost: Free

Description: Meet at Our Table willow plot to weed the perimeter, maintain the landscape fabric, and do other willow gardening chores. We will work on the plot from 9am to 10:30am and harvest bark from 10:30am to noon. Wear appropriate gardening gear and come prepared for the weather.

Things to Bring: 

TOOLS: hand tools for weeding, pruners. We will have some gardening tools to share, but folks are welcome to bring their own. We especially could use shovels, pitchforks, and leather gloves for blackberry removal.

TOOLS for BARK HARVEST: Knife (X-Acto knife, paring knife less than 3 inches, or a Dexter knife). Towel or blanket for propping the willow for cutting, your preferred method for tying the rolls – string or tape.

No need to RSVP, just show up.
