About the program:
From Peter Schutte:
I have been a photographer for many clients both in the Netherlands and in the Portland area. My first major job was to photograph the catalogue of the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum, photographing all the major paintings and the many pieces of their art collection.
Photographing our own works of art is often not done right, either because of lack of technical and artistic know how, or understanding what people that are looking for art, like baskets in this case, are really wanting to see…
I have been teaching many classes at the Multnomah Art Center in photographing our products in an artful way so that the artist can save money and do it themselves. In the brief time of my talk and demonstration I will try my best to show these things, and what to do and what not to do.
Bring a camera and baskets to photograph
Bring your cameras that you plan to use for doing this work, some of your work and I will show how to go about making a good photograph of your product, also using indoor lighting for times when you photograph.
The meeting will open at 6:30 p.m. with library and social time. Don't forget to check out the orphan table and material sales.
