Class Description: We will be weaving a medium-sized red cedar basket, using a continuous twill and plaited pattern. The basket is a rectangle that measures approximately 3”x2”x.25” and can stand alone or be turned into a necklace. We will use quartz & Druzy crystal beads, along with seed beads, to embellish it. There will be opportunities to create your own designs as we go or weave it as shown.
Registration deadline is Nov. 15; this will enable us to mail your class materials to you.

Supplies Needed: 4 small alligator clips, scissors, and a bowl for soaking cedar.
We will use the DIY camera stand for demonstration, questions, and problem solving. For the camera stand (we will forward directions when we get your registration) you will need: A smartphone. Two tall full bottles (e.g. wine, Martinelli, 2 liter pop). Yard stick or other similar flat piece. Tape to hold the yard stick on top of the bottles. Rubber bands to hold the phone. A work light helps to get light on your weaving while under the camera. Click here for a picture and detailed instructions.
Methods & skills: twining, twill, over under plaiting and beading.
