March Zoom-in – 9 Classes in 5 Days!

On Day 5, March 18, we will have 2 class offerings. Students will be able to create a Beaded Gourd Vase with Jane Wilson or Wrapped Stones with Jennifer Wool. NOTE: Select only 1 of these 2 classes. You cannot take both. Members only. See class listings below:

Beaded Gourd Vase with Jane Wilson

About the Instructor

In this class you will learn how to open and close coil on a gourd, how to add rows of beads for embellishment and how to shape your weaving to create a vase. You will have a selection of colors of gourds, cord, and beads to choose from. Your kit will include; a ready to weave gourd, needle, drill bit, Tiger Tape, hand-dyed Danish cord, waxed linen thread, beads and step-by-step photos printed instructions. Your project will be 4" x 4" x 4"

Tools needed: Drill, awl, scissors, pencil, apron, personal light (optional)

Wrapped Stones with Jennifer Wool

Skill level: All. Must provide your own rocks.

About the Instructor

Students will learn several ways to wrap rocks. One is using red cedar strips, round reed, waxed linen on a smooth oval river rock (provided by student) in the morning session. Your other rocks will be wrapped in afternoon session using cane.

Tools and supplies provided by student: 4-5 smooth oval flat-ish river rocks, about 3" x 3" and 1-2" deep. Basketry shears, container for soaking, packing tool
