In this class students will learn how to twine and to use different materials and colors to create their design. They also will learn how to follow a basketry pattern. The finished piece is about 3"h and 3.5"w.
This class will be online via Zoom. It will be a total of 6 hours over two weeks.
Date & Time: Saturday, April 29, 2023, 9am – 12pm PDT, and Saturday, May 6, 2023, 9 am – 12pm PDT.

Student skill level: All, especially those new to twining. CBBG members only. Sorry, no option for international members for this class.
Number of students: 12
Cost: $37 ($12 class fee and $25 for materials and shipping.) Kit will include written instructions, jute for spokes and weavers, cord, a bear grass strip and will be shipped to you prior to your class.
What you will need: Six-inch piece of colored string or ribbon, 2 spring clothes pins, darning needle with large eye, preferably metal; small scissors, pencil, small packing tool such as a small crochet hook

About Instructor Barbara Kommer: My interest in Native American art, especially Northwest basketry, led me to basket making. While I enjoy working with a variety of techniques, twining has become my favorite.
