Description: In August Annetta Kraayeveld joined basket makers from around the world at the World Wicker and Weaving Festival in Poznan, Poland. She competed with three other Americans in the weaving competition, which requires contestants to create and complete a project in 15 hours.
Annetta will share her festival experiences with us from her home in Montana!
In 2000, after teaching locally for several years, Annetta began teaching at guilds and basketry events around the United States. She says that traveling and getting to know the basket community across the country has enriched her life more than she could have imagined. “It is a community filled with amazingly talented and precious people,” she says. Over the years Annetta has exhibited her work at a local gallery and at shows around the country, and has won numerous awards.
Annetta has served on the National Basketry Organization (NBO) board of directors since 2020 and was named NBO president in 2023.
No RSVP is required for this event. Guild members (and their guests) only please. If you are not a Guild member, but would like to become one, click here. Members will receive an email notice with the Zoom link prior to the meeting.
