Description: In this class we will cover a small vessel using a combination of lark’s head knots and half hitches. This technique produces a beautiful spiral pattern but can be manipulated to make almost any pattern. The project will not be finished in class but all techniques will be demonstrated and instructions will be provided. The size of the project will beabout 2″ to 3″.
The instructor will send 4 yds of 7-ply waxed linen thread for the core, the tube to weave around, instructions to all students and 5 colors of 4-ply waxed linen thread unless you choose to use your own.
If you choose to use your own waxed linen thread, you should have: approximately 22 yards total of 4 ply in several colors.
Everybody will need: small sharp scissors, sharp pointed tweezers, small packing tool.
Optional but recommended: a firm pillow to work on (like a throw pillow), a work light, reading glasses or magnifiers (the knots are small).
