Cost: $46 ($6 class fee and $40 for materials — includes shipping to USA only). Materials will be mailed in advance. Kit includes: 5 ½” metallic finished gourd, pre-cut polished hemp strings, wooden beads, color step-by-step printed instructions, non-slip mat.
Number of students: 12. All skill levels welcome.

Description: You will learn to weave a shekere, a West African percussion instrument. It is made from a dried gourd that has a painted metallic finish. Wooden beads are woven in a net around the gourd. The shape of the gourds determines the sound of the instrument. Finished size is 5 ½" x 8".
Gourd color choices: Ruby, Midnight Blue, Turquoise

Supplies you will need to have on hand: Scissors, awl or tool to place beads, cup or bowl to set gourd in while tying knots.
