CBBG April General Meeting with Peter Michael Bauer: Invasive Baskets

Date & Time: Thursday, April 20, 2023, 6:30pm PDT

Location: Multnomah Arts Center, in the Auditorium (7688 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland, OR)

Guild members only, please. (If you are not a Guild member but would like to become one, click here!) We do not require reservations for this event.

Description: Invasive plants require management and are an untapped resource full of potential. Through experimentation with various invasive plants over the last 13 years, Peter Michael Bauer has come to develop a love for their qualities and understands them on a deeper level. This talk will cover Peter's journey of discovery, specific plants and their strengths in basket weaving, and a new view growing in the scientific community on invasive species.

Our meetings are held in the auditorium at the Multnomah Arts Center, 7688 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland. Social time is 6:30-7pm followed by a short business meeting. The program will begin about 7:15pm and usually runs about 45 minutes plus questions and discussion.

Please note: Although CBBG has eased its Covid requirements, we remind members that the majority of CBBG’s population is among the most vulnerable. If you have been exposed to Covid or feel ill, you must test for Covid and may attend a class or event – masked – only if you test negative.  We want everyone to feel relaxed and be safe. We encourage members to mask up if they feel more comfortable doing so. And we strongly encourage everyone to keep their vaccinations and boosters up-to-date.

Stream this meeting:  We are hoping to make this meeting available via Zoom in real time. We will email a link to all members a day or two before. If you are not able to attend in person, watch your email for information. Please bear with us as we attempt the set-up. Because we do this infrequently, we are not as adept as we would like!
