March Zoom-In – 10 Classes in 5 Days!

The last day to register is Thursday, February 8, 2024. This also is the last day for refunds. We will take names for a waiting list when a class fills, until February 8. Email ColumbiaBasinBasketryGuild@gmail.com with the class name and your contact information to be put on the wait list. Zoom-In classes are open to CBBG members and non-members. Materials will be mailed to registrants; sorry, no option for Canadians.

NOTE: Students will need to pre-glue spokes in base prior to class to be class-ready.
Description: Triple twine with three colors of cotton cord in stacking pattern, then twine with soft suede leather. The rim is accented with braided cotton cord rim filler and lashed with cotton cord. You will have the choice of turquoise or red. Your project will be 2-1/2"h x 5-1/2"w.
Tools needed: Glue (Linda uses Gorilla wood glue), scissors, spring-type clothespins, pencil, spray bottle, small packing tool, knife/tool to scarf rim, and tapestry needle with blunt tip. *We strongly encourage you to have a second (smartphone) camera over your workspace for demonstration, questions, and problem solving. Description: This lovely basket is a fun one to weave. Featuring a pocket shape, it is sturdy and can be displayed on a wall or door. Students will twine and reverse twine, twill weave, three rod wale with a reverse, and add rows of color. The rim has a band of purple on the outside with a dyed rim filler; it is lashed with waxed linen. Students will braid a cord to hand the basket with, then tie on artificial lavender accents. Your project will be 13”h x 10”w.
Tools needed: Bucket for water, awl, shears, pencil, measuring tape, spoke weight, a few clothespins. *We strongly encourage you to have a second (smartphone) camera over your workspace for demonstration, questions, and problem solving.
