Class Description: Students will first weave a Catalan-like base on a rectangular frame provided by the instructor. Waling and randing techniques will follow and be finished with additional waling and a 4-rod border. The tool basket will be completed with leather straps.
Time permitting, students will also learn to make their own frame with green (fresh) willow for use on a future basket. The sizes will be approximately 11" L x 5"W x 7 ½"H.
Come prepared for variable weather, as the class will be held outside. Please follow current state and CDC COVID 19 prevention recommendations.
Registration for this class will be done online at www.basketryguild.org. You will pay the class fee online and pay the material fee at the first day of class.

Supplies needed: hat/visor, sunscreen, sharp pruners, sharp knife, rapping iron, large awl/bodkin, portable work table (only if you have one). If you don’t have a rapping iron or an awl/bodkin, extras will be available during class.
Registration deadline is Friday, August 20.
Cost: Class fee $65 due at registration and materials fee $50 due at the time of class (materials fee checks payable to CBBG). Willow volunteers will be credited $7/hour for their volunteer time for material fee only.
